STS 004 - A microphone shoutout from New York

This episode, we are broadcasting on location. How exciting! Episode #4 is coming to you from Niagra Falls, NY. Say what?

I'll explain the reasons behind this little field trip and I'll do the microphone shoutout I have been promising for a while. The mic's I used are listed below. Click on the image for more details.

We also received a surprise audio clip from my friend and former radio colleague Floris Daelemans, see the picture above. Find him @florisdaelemans. And by the way, here's the gym room I recorded parts of my audio in:

You can listen to this episode in a variety of ways:

  1. Lode, this was a very interesting lesson/show. As a soon-to-be-podcaster, I need all the information I can get. I really appreciated the nice side-by-side comparison, and wow! The sound from the Neumann TLM 102 was wonderful! The other recordings were nice, but I never listened to a good comparison, and I can see why you would choose the Neumann TLM 102 over the other two. Such rich sound, very smooth and complete. (And that was just over my iPhone's ear buds!)

Thanks for the great show! And, speaking for all of us who live south of your border, thanks for sharing your business with us! We like it! Come and shop here anytime!

  2. Thanks Trevor,
Once I manage to keep the outside noise outside, I'll use the Neumann as my standard mic!
